Next generation infrastructure monitoring

Hansje Brinker offers an operational system for managers of infrastructure to monitor dynamic deformations anywhere. This system helps managers to identify the exact location for local follow-up inspection on dams, levees, pipelines, railroads, bridges, storage tanks and all other assets under management. In a single view, the manager can determine where inspection – and possibly maintenance – is most urgently required.

Hansje Brinker provides a continuous and global view on deformation processes, based on radar images taken by satellite. This view can be updated biweekly for all infrastructure under management. This overview is global, yet detailed down to the millimeter level.

With the QuickScan product, you can see local deformation retrospectively, to provide a longer term view of failure mechanisms. For many areas, we can assess historic millimeter scale motions that have taken place over the last 18 years.

Reporting and results are accessible through our web service or off-line. With these insights, the infrastructure manager can better plan inspection and maintenance.

QuickScan

The first step in determining the stability of infrastructure typically involves visualising deformation over the largest relevant area and the longest possible period. For many areas, we can do the QuickScan over a period dating back to 1992. The results will indicate where historically the infrastructure has been deforming, and give detailed information about rate, direction, accelerations and spatial gradients of deformation.
